Atherton Heritage Centre

Based at Barham Village Hall, the Atherton Heritage Centre is home to an archive of over 11,000 items covering the five parishes of Adisham, Barham, Bishopsbourne, Kingston, and Womanswold.

Managed by the Barham Downs History Society, the centre supports anyone interested in researching local history, families, or community life. The collection includes photographs, documents, family records and more—mostly in digital format.

The society’s archivist, John Reynolds, welcomes contributions of local items—old or new—that help preserve our shared history. Items can be copied or donated, depending on your preference.

Opening Times:
The centre is open every Wednesday from 10am - 12pm.
